Chip carved celtic cross in stained basswood with sunbursts on each arm and central darts.

A motto is burnt into the wood.

I have always enjoyed working with wood and have, in the last 10 years, focused on the special hobby of woodcarving known as

“CHIP CARVING”.

Combining my creative nature with a love of woodworking, I join them with symbols and verses of  hope, promise, love, and redemption.

Scriptures and hymns of the Christian faith are the major thematic source material for my carved pieces.

I now live in in Grand Rapids, Michigan in a great retirement community called the Covenant Village of the Great Lakes with my wonderful wife and high school sweetheart, Kay. My work life before retirement was as a theological librarian at a fine, conservative Methodist  school,  Asbury  Seminary, in Wilmore, Kentucky.

I invite you to view these web pages and enjoy some of my chip carving work.  Also, check out my page, Why I Do What I Do,.and then consider asking me to carve something special for you, a friend, or a loved one. See my Albums Page for some examples of my chip carving work.
